Frequently Asked Questions
Troubleshooting Spinach Bot Meeting Issues
What should I do if the Spinach bot does not join my meeting?
If the Spinach bot does not join your meeting, follow these steps: (1) Use the Rejoin button in your Future Meetings dashboard—Spinach should attempt to join within 1-2 minutes. (2) If Rejoin does not work, click Join Live to send the bot directly to your meeting. (3) Check the waiting room or lobby (especially on Zoom and Teams) and admit "Spinach AI" if present. (4) Verify that your meeting appears in the Future Meetings tab with Spinach toggled on; if not, your calendar may need to be re-synced. Note: Spinach may not join if there are persistent calendar sync issues or if the meeting is not on the synced calendar. Source.
What can I do if the Rejoin button is spinning or not working?
If the Rejoin button spins but nothing happens, try using Join Live instead, as it is the most reliable fallback and will send a fresh bot to your meeting. Refresh your dashboard and try again, as sometimes the connection needs a fresh session. Ensure the meeting is still active, as Rejoin only works while the meeting is in progress. If this issue happens repeatedly, contact support via chat for further investigation. Note: Persistent issues may indicate a platform-specific problem. Source.
Why is the Spinach bot joining my meeting late or missing the start?
Spinach normally joins meetings 2 minutes before the scheduled time. If it joins late or not at all, possible reasons include: (1) Calendar sync delay—recently added or modified meetings may take a few minutes to be detected. For last-minute meetings, use "Join Live" for immediate attendance. (2) Platform-specific delays—Microsoft Teams meetings sometimes experience brief syncing delays; disconnecting and reconnecting your calendar from Settings may help. (3) Multiple calendar connections—ensure the meeting is on the calendar that Spinach is synced with. Note: Delays may occur if calendar sync is not up to date or if the meeting is not on the correct calendar. Source.
How do I stop Spinach from joining canceled or removed meetings?
If a recurring meeting was canceled but Spinach keeps trying to join, go to Future Meetings and toggle Spinach off for that meeting series. If the meeting does not appear in your dashboard but Spinach still joins, contact support to manually remove the recurring meeting from the Spinach schedule. Note: This may occur if the meeting was deleted outside of the synced calendar or if sync issues persist. Source.
What should I do if I have persistent join issues across multiple meetings?
If you experience persistent join issues, disconnect and reconnect your calendar: (1) Go to Settings > Integrations. (2) Disconnect your calendar. (3) Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect it. (4) Your meeting schedule will re-sync within a few minutes. This resolves most persistent syncing issues. Note: Your meeting history and settings are preserved. Source.
How can I contact support if troubleshooting steps do not resolve my issue?
If none of the troubleshooting steps resolve your issue, reach out to the Spinach AI support team via the chat widget on app.spinach.ai or email support@spinach.io. Please include the meeting name and time, your video platform (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet), what you tried (Rejoin, Join Live, etc.), and any error messages you saw. Note: Response times may vary depending on support volume. Source.
